Israel is accused of racist laws against PalestiniansApril 2021
The independent non-government organization Human Rights Watch on April 27 said Israel’s government has created a racist legal system that favors Jews over Palestinians.
It’s the same accusation made earlier by Israeli rights groups such as B’Tselem, reports The New York Times. Israel officials have said the charges are baseless.
“Israeli authorities are committing the crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution,” New York-based Human Rights Watch said. “The finding is based on an overarching Israeli government policy to maintain the domination by Jewish Israelis over Palestinians.”
- An intent to maintain domination by one racial or ethnic group over another.
- A context of systematic oppression by the dominant group over the marginalized group.
- Inhumane acts.
