Malala documentary shows Taliban horrors

August 2021
The Taliban have taken over Afghanistan. That’s an imminent threat to the lives of women and girls there.

To understand how life can be under Taliban rule watch the 2009 New York Times documentary Class Dismissed: Malala’s Story.

The 30-minute documentary profiles Malala Yousafzai whose school in Pakistan was shut down by the Taliban.

In 2012 the Taliban tried to assassinate the then 15-year-old Malala for her work as an activist for girls’ education. She survived and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.
